The route then turns east onto the C2C route, taking runners across towards Stanley and Chester-le-Street, before heading back towards Durham. The final miles follow the River Wear and into Durham City for the finish.
Heading south out of Durham, the route follows the railway line towards Langley Moor and Meadowfield before taking in the beautiful Croxdale Wood and Butterby Wood.
The final 5km follows the River Wear back towards Durham City and the finish line.
