Forest of Dean Duathlons & Wild Trail Runs 2027

We head to the iconic Forest of Dean for a brand‑new Wild Deer adventure — offering Standard and Sprint Off‑Road Duathlons, plus 5km and 10km Trail Runs for runners who want to immerse themselves in one of Britain’s most atmospheric woodlands with endless trails.

Perfect for newcomers to trail running or multisport as well as seasoned athletes, this event delivers fast trails, stunning scenery, and a true Wild Deer experience.

About the Forest of Dean

The Forest of Dean is known for its flowing terrain, peaceful woodland, and wide gravel tracks — a perfect setting for winter trail running and off‑road multisport.

Routes

All running routes are fully off‑road, using the forest’s well‑maintained trails, gentle undulations, and wide woodland paths.

The cycling routes take advantage of the Forest of Dean’s renowned off‑road network — expect:

• Smooth gravel fire roads

• Fast, flowing woodland tracks

• Occasional technical sections to keep things exciting

• A mix of climbs and long, enjoyable descents

Suitable for Gravel, Hybrid, or Mountain Bikes.

Transition Area (Duathlon Only)

• Secure transition for competitors only

• Race Number & Bike Number must match your racking spot

• Small bag/box permitted inside transition

• Bike number must be attached & helmet visible before entry

• Numbers will be checked before leaving transition

Timing

Live chip‑timing provided. Results will be published online shortly after the event, just as with other Wild Deer multisport races .

Parking

Parking will be at Speech House, on their event field.
