CHOPWELL WOODS, GATESHEAD

A long haul.........with great atmosphere at the finish.
Agree with the cool box for beer.
Chopwell woods is not the best sign posted . A Wild Deer event flag would be a help where you turn from the Consett road up to the woods

Will be back next time
Great organisation, fabulous summer buffet after, cracking event.
One thing I need to bring to your attention is I was running with my collie Frankie who was attacked by another dog with a spectator, luckily it was muzzled or things could have been nasty, it physically dragged the lady minding it across the path
Nina Errington
A challenging but stunning course
Great route even if a bit tough, great terrain and exceptionally marshalled.
Daniel Edgar
Nice summer evening's run

Maybe a cool box to store beers in

Great course, friendly staff and amazing run!
Despite the heat and the tough course, this was a great run. Beautiful scenery, well-organised, and extremely friendly volunteers who helped me get through the full 15 miles!

Excellent hilly woodland route, well organised trail run
Andrew Wiggins
Brutal hills, beautiful humans, RIP to my ego.
A masterclass in how to deliver a punishing trail run wrapped in a giant, warm hug. The hills absolutely demoted me from "runner" to "crawler," but the vibe was so friendly and supportive that I didn't even mind. Everyone looks out for each other out there. Highly recommend if you like great views and being deeply humbled.

This was incredibly hilly so was a tough race!! Great challenge though. The atmosphere was great, there was a good turn out, it was well marshalled.
My only criticism was that there just weren’t enough water stations for the temperature that it was yesterday and the cups they were handing out had a shot of water in at best, at one point towards the end of the 15 miles I was just so thirsty, I did have a running vest on with a drink within that but given the temperature I’d finished that by mile 10.
Rachel Bainbridge
Steep hills!!! But amazing
Chris Broome
Fun, friendly, well organised
As usual Wilddeer held a very well organised event. It was lovely running along the trails and through the woods. The buffet, organised in the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, was lovely, a picnic in the woods in a very chilled atmosphere.
Everyone, all the volunteers, Marshall's and runners, as usual were brilliant, fun, supportive and well, just lovely all round.
I loved it! Even the heat. Even the hills.
Well done again Wilddeer!
