BAMBURGH CASTLE TO TYNEMOUTH PRIORY
Barry - under 15 hours Storey
Brilliant well organised event
Great communication before the event with access to the gpx file.
A few additional signs could have been beneficial especially when running through the beach sections but I got to the end with only a
Slight detour.
Some additional snacks at the aid stations would have been great, sandwiches or small pasta pots.
Would I do it again, 100%

Good event, some lovely scenery.
Feed stations - ideally melon or orange slices and red cola for the later stages
Overall event was a good day, marshalls very helpful and friendly, nice to have a well earned cuppa and pasta at the end.
Finishers top very good quality and the medal mint.

Well done to all
The route was very well signposted throughout, and the food station teams were enthusiastic, friendly, and incredibly supportive.
One suggestion for future events would be to consider incorporating a short section along the beach around Druridge Bay, as there was quite a lot of tarmac running in that area. This could add some variety to the route.
It may also be beneficial to have a few seats available at feed stations, allowing runners who need to carry out personal care, such as blister treatment or changing footwear, to do so more comfortably.
Overall, it was a very well-organised event, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you to everyone involved in making it happen.

Absolutely stunning scenery!!
This was my first ultra of this distance so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The correspondence before hand was brilliant. There was a really relaxed atmosphere at the start line and the weather and coffee made a huge difference. I felt it was super well organised and enough amazing Marshalls checking in all the time, the course was also very well signposted I never felt scared.
I agree with others that the last feed station was just a bit too far away and you do need it mentally a bit closer, although it made the last 10k closer.
Chat from other runners were that the food stations weren’t great compared to other events, chat was that proper food should have been provided like quiche, pasta, way more fruit than banana but as I say it was my first ultra so I wouldn’t have anything to compare it to.
I had a great day and I definitely thought this route was absolutely suitable for beginners, there was no difficult elevation at any point and paths were great

Epic day out
Very friendly and well run event. Tough one (I didn't finish) but lots of opportunity for supporters to meet and cheer on competitors. Thanks to all staff & volunteers for putting on this excellent adventure.

I love the event. It was well signed and organised, plenty of supper and beautiful scenery. The team were fantastic and the other runners were wonderful!
I'm only answers *no* to Q6 as this is not a beginners event!!
Lyndsay Mckellow
The support from the marshals made it a fantastic day.
At Low Newton I couldn't go to the toilet as there was a M/F toilet plus a men's toilet but a man had decided to go in the only toilet women could use and there was about 6 of us waiting to go. The toilet situation around the rest of the route was great, but this seemed very unfair to the women.

Ultra good fun
Great day overall, but maybe the fast runners SHOULD have gone first and the distance between the 4th and last feeding station….please please please can you make it nearer?!? All the others were a great convenient distance apart but that one finished me…

Mixed feelings
Organisation was great, marshals were absolutely brilliant. Was swearing about the checkpoint in Blyth though, I think maybe one in between would be useful. 15 miles is a big gap. Mixed views on the scenery. First half is stunning, second half not so much. Great route though for a fast 100km if thats what you're after. An awful lot of road and path and although we'd been recommended trail shoes, I honestly think road shoes were best - so much so I swapped shoes at 25 miles. Cut offs incredibly generous and good choice of food at checkpoints

Epic fun day out with bundles of support
Absolute fab event …. All the correspondence before hand was brilliant and the wild deer team and volunteers on the day were just incredible …. And the atmosphere and location at the end was just epic !!!! Thank you. Only suggestion would be I think the distance between Newbiggin and Blythe check points was way too far …. I was lucky to have support but would have run out of water if not !!! Thank you again for a fab day!!!!!
