BEYOND NOTTINGHAM 2027

Think you know Nottingham? Go BEYOND your usual route and discover a different side of Nottingham.

Beyond Nottingham by Wild Deer Events gives you a choice of a 55km Ultra or 25km Trail Run, taking you away from the busy streets and onto some of Nottinghams best hidden trails and green spaces.

With accessible starts and finishes, an affordable entry fee and Beyond Trails support throughout your training, this is a urban trail running event where everyone is welcome.

THE ROUTES

55KM ULTRA

Starting in the heart of Nottingham, the 55K takes runners on a varied journey through the city and surrounding countryside. The route heads east towards Colwick, Burton Joyce and the peaceful rural trails around the Trent Valley, before returning through Holme Pierrepont and West Bridgford.

The second half heads back into Nottingham before turning west towards Wollaton Park and the University of Nottingham, combining quiet trails, parks, riverside paths and urban sections before bringing runners back to the finish.

25KM TRAIL RUN

Starting in Nottingham, the 25K heads east towards Colwick and the countryside around the River Trent, taking in a mixture of quieter paths and open green spaces before turning back towards the city.

The route then crosses Nottingham before heading west towards Wollaton and Wollaton Park, passing through some of the city’s best-known green spaces and surrounding trails before looping back towards the centre.

CUT-OFF TIME

The official cut-off time is 6:00pm.

At this time, we will begin the pack-down process at the finish. Sweeps will be on the course, taking down route signage behind the final runner.

55KM ULTRA

Registration opens: 7:00am
Start: 8:00–8:30am

The 55km will use a staggered start, with runners setting off in small groups.

25KM TRAIL RUN

Registration opens: 9:00am
Start: 10:00–10:30am

The 25km will also use a staggered start, with runners setting off in small groups.

BAG DROP

A bag drop will be available at the start/finish.

FEED STATIONS

There are three feed stations on the 55km route and two on the 25km route.

All feed stations have toilets and first aid available.

We would expect runners to have the following with them:
