DALBY FOREST, NORTH YORKSHIRE
Ian Hagyard
A great event in a beautiful forest which is quite local to me, the organisation was spot on and as I was a first timer to a gravel event i entered the 50k as I’m now 75 so found it a hard challenge but a great workout too, I just couldn’t fault it at all

Epic Awesome Dalby Devil Gravel Event
After doing the 160 last year I couldn’t wait to return, the scenery, the vibe, the gravel and the route is epic. Testing you fully with good long punchy climbs and fast gravel descents through amazing forests. It’s a ride that has it all and can’t wait for next year. The route is sign posted so well, the feed stations are based at the right spots and well stocked, all the Wild Deer staff are very helpful and friendly. The Dalby Devil is must for all to ride.
Chapeau Wild Deer

Lovely ride in the forest
Parking barcode did not work. Forestry made a killing!
Robert Williams
Big views, big ride
Great event, amazing route with some testing climbs. Friendly atmosphere and really helpful staff and volunteers.
keith rolink
Great event will be doing it again next year
Simon Perkins
1st one and did struggle towards end but absolutely lovely ride with scenery and great organisers
If your beginner would advise 50 k to start on as it can get hilly
Loved it though
Simon FALCONER
Decent climbs with a variety of decents and terrain
The gpx file for the 160 didn't correlate to the signage on the route. Some slight confusion where it was turning off earlier. I ignored the gpx and followed the well signed route.
Shay Dempsey
Big country big gravel tracks... brilliant signage and everyone was sooo helpful
Andy Holladay
Excellent event, great route through the forest, good feed station and marshall support. Fab atmosphere and Wild Deer manage to keep the event friendly and affordable
Really like Wild Deer Events, great support for riders, including recovery to the start when my rear mech exploded

Robert Moody
Good event, well organised, nice tough route.
The QR code for the car park discount did not work so I had to pay £15, which was unexpected and annoying.
Richard Tomlinson
Another excellent ran event love the Wild Deer organisation
Lee Elvin
good day out
Parking qr code didn’t work so had to pay full charge
Peter Brown
One of the best organised events I’ve been to.
Fantastic organisation, clear signposting and great atmosphere. The organisers gave 100% to make it a great day out. Great to be able to camp over the night before - pizza and cake vans were really good.
Michael Garmston
Brilliant day out!
Robert Dotchin
Good event and value for money
I’m nearly 61 and you have down as V50 and not V60.
The parking QR CODE didn’t work (not just for me but others I was in the queue to pay for parking). The saving with the QR code was only 40p.
Keith Underwood
Dalby can be quite hilly in places
A well organised and enjoyable 50km ride, but my legs ache now
Mark Rigby
Another fantastic wild deer event
I stopped doing sportive a couple of years ago as I didn't feel they were value for money but having done a couple of wild deer events now I will definitely be doing more.
Stephen Packham
Great ride and beautiful scenery.
One major drawback was the parking charge of £14.60
Adam Barnes
Devilishly enjoyable and devilishly hard up the hills!
I’m back and unpacking, and just found out that I finished 37th out of 156 riders in the 80k. Not bad for my first gravel event!
Have to say, that was the hardest physical activity I’ve ever done…and I mean that in a good way! The gravel, trails, road, forest etc was all good (generally cycling at 16-20mph, and downhill my fastest was 42mph), but those North Yorkshire hills….what a killer! Nearly 4,000ft of climbing today.
Beer, beer and more beer tonight
