A truly great day out!
From start to finish, it was great. Good info, good signage and very helpful helpers along the way.
The lady at the feed station, 8.5 miles was a star, with a great selection of food. Walked it with my wife and we've no complaints.
Thanks.

I enjoyed the event, organisers on the day were very friendly and efficient.
I was emailed to say I was in 8am wave no 1. I didnt set off until 8-30am. I had an extra 30 mins to wait in a very cold housesteads where the wind was freezing. A number of competitirs were staying in the warm toilets. It is a great shame the large cafe area couldnt be open for us to wait in and the marshalls to issue us with our bib number. Pit stops were not very gluten free friendly but the coffee lady was amazing. Thank you to all the vounteers I loved the route and will be back next year.

Well organised event. The bus to the start to enable a linear walk was welcome. Friendly marshals and good refreshments. Good location with the scenery varying from exposed open land either side of the wall, to the river valley.

Amazing morning - such a beautiful part of the world and a fantastic event to be part of

Excellent day
Excellent organisation and friendly staff and participants. We were just disappointed by the plywood medal. Enjoyed the can of beer at the end. Most welcome.

Lovely day

Brilliant experience from start to finish; exceeded expectations
Our first organised walk was amazing. Fantastic organisation from the coach to registration, Marshalls, snack stop and finish line. The super clean portaloos were useful and a thoughtful addition.
The scenery and variation of terrain was wonderful and maintained interest throughout.
The support staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
We would 100% do another organised walk by Wild Deer events.
Thank you everyone .

Fantastic race that our 11 yemear old son managed easily
Preferred off tarmac than on tarmac

Fantastic route, accessible to all types of walker.
Really well organised from email instructions about the event and what to expect on the day, to the route itself. Absolutely stunning scenery with just enough of a challenge to let you know it was an event! Great snacks at mile 8.5, very welcome, as was the coffee wagon there and at the start. Nice medal, though I will always prefer a metal one! We were lucky with the weather and relieved once we had changed direction to have a very strong wind behind us!! Would definitely recommend and hope to do it again next year.

Well organised, fab location, friendly marshalls, well stocked feed station, medal, T-shirt & goodies on completion. Would recommend

Fantastic event
I always find the wild deer events better organised. This route was absolutely stunning and well marshalled. The treats at the pit stop were amazing (brownies) and there were even toilets.
Great medal at the finish with a T Shirt, bottle of water snack and a can of either pop or lager.
Only thing I would say is that the post code for the shuttle bus took us to the wrong place and we didn’t realise we had to walk all the way through to the other side of the park making us anxious we would miss the bus but it all turned out fine!
Great event and we can’t wait to get it booked for next year.
Jill Clark
Great route for walking with great scenery. Well organised and great top and medal at the end as well as snacks too.

Absolutely fantastic event
Wow, what a great day. I’ve run a lot of Wild Deer events but this was my first hike. Firstly, the flexibility in allowing me to change waves to join my 3 friends was really appreciated. A great route, excellent signage, marshals were ace and the lady at the 8 mile feeding station was a superstar. Nice treats, too. The finish was special, as were the goody bag items. A great value event. Thank you.

Brilliant Way to Walk the Wall
Easy to catch bus to the start. Great coffee at start, mile 8 feed station and end. Amazing mile 8 feed station, what a lovely surprise that was. Great medal and goodies.
I’m a tour guide on Hadrian’s Wall, so walk it year round, but it was just so lovely to participate in a walk, to be looked after throughout by organisers and marshals and just get to relax, walk and enjoy the scenery. I’d do it again!

Wonderful scenic route, would recommend to anyone wanting to do a 1/2 marathon
The volunteers make this as they do for all events, helpful and friendly 5*
