A real challenge in a stunning setting.

An excellent event with first class , friendly , cheerful marshals. The day had truly awful weather which turned out to be the real challenge.
I really enjoyed this event, memorable.

Scenic, well run event

Great event, well ran. Very friendly marshalls.

Weather spoilt the event

Savage weather made the conditions and therefore the race not enjoyable. No fault of the organisers, it just the good old British weather! Main reason for review is to thank the marshals who did an incredible job in the most torrential, relentless rain. Cannot thank them enough including the kind marshal who tied my shoelaces as I couldn't feel my fingers.

Awesome event! Very well marshalled, however the weather lets it down every year.

Well organised

None of our results are shown on the results site. Our times under Paul Cookxon and Nicholas Cookson are all on Strava but no results in the relay category. Our friends were shown as the only finishers.

Stunning but unpredictable

Only a maybe for recommending the event as I didn’t finish it. The weather was brutal which was obviously uncontrollable, god weather would’ve been an amazing day!

Brutal conditions today, well done to anyone who took part.

A huge thank you to the volunteers for being out in those conditions today and making the event possible and staying in high spirits

Wet wet wet

I have done this event 4 times and each time it’s been bad weather, today was the extreme to that with people becoming extremely cold and having to withdraw, this is a wonderful event with stunning scenery, could it not be moved closer to summer time so all participants can enjoy this event safely.

Really well organised event

My first duathlon it was really well organised and all the marshals were so helpful and friendly. Just a shame the weather didn’t play ball.

Shocking weather, but marshalls outstanding

This was probably one of the toughest duathlons I’ve done, mainly because of the conditions, but all of the marshalls more than made up for this with all the support and excellent directions.

A great supportive atmosphere

The weather was horrendous, but the marshalls were excellent! They were so enthusiastic and supportive.

Thanks for a great event!

Great event, well organised and very well marshalled.

First of all amassive thankyou for organising such a great event and massive thanks to all the marshalls in enduring horrendous weather cinditions. On that note i think offering to allow entrants to switch to the shorter race was a great idea. An offer i wish i had taken you up on! I think maybe you could have gone one step further and switched the cycle course to the shorter blue route used for the sprint as i felt the longer course was really dangerous on decents. Also given this is the uk in March and the lakes in particular you may want to cosider using the gravel car park for transtion. I know next yeat it could be 15 degrees and bright sunshine but by using the gravel you take the quagmire in transition out of the equation. I would be hapoy to oay tge going rate fot the public car parks. The run round Grasmere was beautiful anf fun but the bike was all about survival for me. I think the bike course is a little more than moderately hilly especially tbe climb up Hawkshead Hill! David Corner DNF

A perfect pre-season event .

Good idea with the change of route for the standard closing 5k. The conditions were horrendous so the shouts of well done and help with kit from marshalls was so appreciated. They were heroes standing out in that for 2 hours plus.

Excellent location, everything close by: registration (smooth), car parking, toilets, transition and start.

A big thank you to all the Marshalls on what was a horrendous day weather wise
