Would be better with a few better food and drink vendors. My girlfriend said she’d have liked to have been able to get a cold drink either soft drinks or an alcoholic one as there was no one selling any. And the cafe was rather expensive.

Excellent organisation, everything was 1st class. Also a big thank you to the organisers for arranging coffee and pizza, both were delicious. The way the run is set out is great for supporters and for competitors. We needed to get something from the car for our runner and this was easy to arrange due to the run course lay out and nearby parking.

May see you again next year we enjoyed it that much :)

The most wonderful people, all the staff & volunteers are incredibly friendly and will help you in every way they can. The courses are fantastic and relatively fast, safe and perfectly exciting. The aid stations were well distributed and stocked. The race HQ has many different stalls and lots of spectator-friendly space. The prizes for podium winners are lovely and functional. It could've done with more portaloos & toilet roll, but that's pretty much the only downside. Getting a beautiful hoodie and meal voucher are great prizes.

Went on the Friday to try the lake and the guy there setting up was brilliant everyone who supported the event incredible. Achieved all my goals and the scenery and routes were amazing. Proud to be a Geordieman!

Savoury sandwiches at Feed stations would be a bonus :)
Volunteers and support were exceptional

This was a great event and the second time I’ve done the half. There’s a great range of races. It’s well organised and great crowd.

Loved how low key the event was - not crowded and one of 1000s. Loved that the transition area was “quiet” I.e., not constantly pumping out loud music!
Loved how friendly the staff / volunteers were.
Love the hoodies! Will wear with pride!
The only thing that could have been improved would have been being able to hear the briefing from the back of the crowd, perhaps a mic or horn for the announcer?

GEORDIEMAN 70.3 2026 was my first experience of a triathlon and I couldn’t have asked for a better event!

Didn’t like the impatient drivers but short of closed roads there’s nothing you can do about that! Also some of the roads were diabolical condition but again that’s out of your control

A reminder to cyclists not to undertake on roundabouts when turning right.
It happened to me twice today. I was following the Highway Code correctly in the right hand lane and then tried to move across when my exit was coming up. However each time there were several faster cyclists going past me on the inside. I had looked left and then needed to slow down whereas they didn’t, and so it was an unnecessary and potential dangerous avoidance action on my part.
I know I wasn’t going as fast as they were and they wanted to maintain momentum. However for safety reasons they should have followed me and then overtook me. It would have delayed them a matter of seconds.

Well organised, kayakers were really helpful making the swim more enjoyable. Fabulous location. Nice to have an event in a North East location. Already entered Derwent sim next year.

The atmosphere was amazing, the scenery was so pretty. I loved being so close to the sea. The terrain was forgiving for a beginner. The marshalls made it, they were amazing and so supportive and helpful! Loved it.

It’s my first time competing at the Geordieman this year. But I have spectated for a couple of years. The event gets bigger every year, you are doing an amazing job!
I was really impressed by the communication pre event. Organisation on registration and race day, the event goodies (medal was amazing, great hoody!)
The course is fantastic. Keep doing what you are doing Wild deer, you will capitalise on the people that the Ironman branded events take for granted.
