Question 1

Transferring your place to someone else

Accepted Answer

If you are unable to attend an event, you may be able to transfer your place to someone else. Simply view your booking via the link in your confirmation email and, if the event organiser is currently permitting such transfers, click to Transfer to Someone Else.

You will be asked to enter the name and email address of the intended recipient - together with any custom message you wish to add - and on completion of the booking invitation sent to the recipient, your entry will be removed.

Question 2

Updating your booking/registration information

Accepted Answer

If any of the details provided during your registration for an event are incorrect/outdated, you may be able to update them yourself. Simply view your booking via the link in your confirmation email and, if the event organiser is currently permitting such updates, click to Update Booking.

You will be able to update any responses except your Name and Date of Birth, but must ensure you click Proceed at the foot of the page to save any changes. Note that you will not receive confirmation of any changes by email.

Question 3

How can I add an Item to my event booking

Accepted Answer

If you forget to do so during registration, or later change your mind, you can still purchase any merchandise/add-ons offered by the organiser of an event you have already booked.

Simply follow the link in your booking confirmation email to view/manage your entry, and select “Add Items to Booking” from the available options. You will then be taken to the the event merchandise page where you can add any items to your orders as necessary.

Creating a user account after registration

Creating a user profile allows you to manage all of your bookings in one place and take advantage of any other benefits offered by an organiser.

These can include loyalty points earned for entering an event, a record of your results, or credit earned through any referral scheme in place.

If you didn’t elect to create a user profile during registration for an event, you can do so by viewing your booking via the link in your confirmation email and click to Create Account where indicated. You will be asked to provide a password, and can then use the same login credentials to sign in to your profile with any organiser using the eventrac platform to host their events.

Question 5

Is there an area to leave baggage?

Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee a secure or dry area at all events to leave baggage so we request that all baggage is to be left in your vehicle (at your own risk).

Question 6

What if I get injured during the race?

Accepted Answer

First aid is available at the start and finish area and also on the course. If your injury is not serious but you have to stop running, please walk to the side of the course and speak to a marshal. If you can’t walk to the finish please speak to a marshal for assistance.

Question 7

Will there be t-shirts to purchase at the end?

Accepted Answer

We can’t guarantee that there will be t-shirts available at the end so we recommend pre-ordering a t-shirt, in the size you require, when you register.

Question 8

When will I get my number?

Accepted Answer

All numbers are to be collected on the day of the event unless told otherwise. You will be sent your BIB Number via email a few days before the event, please have it to hand at registration.

Question 9

Where will I find race instructions?

Accepted Answer

Race instructions will be available on the website and we will also email participants in the weeks leading up to the race to confirm all of the details including your race number. Please check your junk/spam email if you haven’t received it.

Question 10

What do I do if I don’t receive my race number?

Accepted Answer

All race numbers are sent by email, to the email you registered with, a few days before the event. If you haven’t received it, please check your junk mail as it may be there and drop us an email at info@wilddeerevents.co.uk if not.

Question 11

Are the routes easy to follow?

We try to make our routes as easy as possible and are available on our website before the event as well as explained during the race briefing on the day so please make sure you listen. Our routes are well marked with signs on the day and we have marshals at various points on the route however there may be various distances on the day so don’t follow the runner in front of you. The colour of the arrows to follow for each event is sent to all participants in the Event Information email a few days before the event along with links to the routes with GPX files which can be downloaded. The navigation of the course is the responsibility of the participant.

Can I see the route before race day?

All running and multisport routes are published on the event pages as soon as they are confirmed. Please note that all routes are subject to change. Cycling routes are available to view when you sign up to the event.

Question 13

How do I know what colour sign to follow?

Accepted Answer

We will advise which colour signs to follow in the race information email prior to the event, however this is subject to change depending on the route when we mark the course. You will be told which colour to follow in your race briefing on the day so please pay attention.

Question 14

Can I transfer my number or defer to next year?

Accepted Answer

We regret that all entry fees are non-refundable but credit may be transferred towards a future event. This will only be possible 14 days before the event for trail runs and 1 month prior to duathlons, triathlons and ultra’s. There is a £5 administration charge to change events.

Question 15

What if the event needs to be cancelled due to the weather?

In the unlikely event of a cancellation, an alternative date will be sought and the event will take place on that date. If you are unable to make that date your entry can be transferred to another Wild Deer Event.

Question 16

What trainers should I wear?

Accepted Answer

We recommend trail shoes for all trail runs and road shoes for all road races however it’s personal preference. Most of our events are on mixed trails and the conditions and terrain depends on the weather.

What time does the race start?

Accepted Answer

Each event is different and the start time can be found on the event page. In cases where there are multiple distances, we may stagger the start and this will be included in the race information email sent prior to the event.

Please note that the times on the website are subject to change and will be confirmed in the Event Information emails.

Question 18

What if I don’t meet the cut off times?

Not many of our events have cut off times however if they do, it will be on the individual event page.

If you don’t reach the cut off time, you may be asked to step down from the race. The cut off times are set with the participants safety in mind as well as the volunteer marshals who stand on the course for a long period of time to allow the event to go ahead. We may have to withdraw some marshals from the course in some instances, for example if it gets too dark, for their safety.

Can I enter on the day?

For run only events, there may be the opportunity to sign up on the day, however we have to order medals and BIB Numbers in advance so we can’t guarantee that there will be spaces. We recommend signing up before registration closes a few days before the event.

Can I run with my dog?

Accepted Answer

We can allow cani-cross in most of our trail runs but we are restricted at some venues so please refer to the individual event pages and contact us before registering if you are unsure.

Are there feed stations at the events?

Water and feed stations are different for every event so please see our individual event pages.

Question 22

Is there parking at the events?

Accepted Answer

There is parking available at our events and where possible we try to have free parking for participants however this is dependent on the venue itself and the terrain of car park in very wet conditions.

Question 23

Save Your Details for Faster Booking

Accepted Answer

Login to your user profile and navigate to the Bookings tab, expanding the option to display Past Bookings if necessary. Click on the grey circled tick to the left of any bookings for which you wish the participant details to be available for selection when later utilising the Auti-Fill functionality on the entry form.

Note that this functionality will only be available if you are signed in to your profile during the booking process.
