BIG LIME TRIATHLONS – HARTLEPOOL MARINA – 8TH AUGUST 2027

We are excited to be returning to Hartlepool Marina for the Big Lime Triathlons on Sunday 8th August 2027!

The Hartlepool Marina Triathlon is a fantastic North East triathlon suitable for beginners, experienced triathletes and relay teams. Take on a swim in the marina, a fast and flat cycle through Seaton Carew and Teesside, followed by a scenic run along the Hartlepool seafront promenade.

With Sprint and Standard Triathlon, Aquabike and relay options available, there is a challenge for everyone.

Event Distances

The Big Lime Triathlons suit all abilities, with relay options available and no cut-off times — nothing stopping you from taking on your first triathlon!

Sprint / Short Triathlon

Swim – 750m | Cycle – 20km | Run – 5km

Our Sprint Triathlon is a great choice for beginners or anyone looking for a fast and achievable triathlon challenge.

Standard Triathlon

Swim – 1,500m | Cycle – 40km | Run – 10km

The Standard Triathlon offers a longer challenge for experienced triathletes or anyone ready to step up from the Sprint distance.

Sprint / Short Aquabike

Swim – 750m | Cycle – 22km

Standard Aquabike

Swim – 1,500m | Cycle – 40km

Open Water Swimming

We also host a dedicated Open Water Swimming event at Hartlepool Marina, providing another opportunity to take on the water without the bike or run sections.

Wetsuit Policy

Water temperatures in August are expected to be warm enough to make wetsuits optional, although we recommend wearing one for comfort.

Transition Area

• Secure transition area for competitors only
• Your Race Number & Bike Number correspond to your racking spot
• Small bags/boxes permitted inside transition
• Bike number must be attached to your bike and helmet worn before entering
• Bib and bike numbers will be checked before exiting transition, so keep them on

Timing

Live Chip Timing will be provided by Timing Up North for accurate race tracking.

The Finish

All finishers receive:

• Event Medal
• Wild Deer merchandise
• A snack and drink

Parking

Parking is available for all participants in the car parking surrounding Hartlepool Marina.
