Ultra events are the ultimate test of effort and perseverance. These challenging events are the ultimate way for athletes to test their abilities and conquer new distances.
Typically, an ultra event will take place on a trailed route, meaning individuals will have to navigate uneven terrain. This makes ultra events that bit more thrilling than a road race.
We offer a number of ultra events across the North East in several locations. Current events include traversing the beautiful Northumberland coastline and exploring the wild and beautiful landscapes of County Durham.
A triathlon is a multi-sport endurance event that combines swimming, cycling, and running in a continuous and challenging sequence. Imagine a thrilling journey where you dive into open water, transition seamlessly to a powerful bike ride through scenic landscapes and finally push your limits with a rewarding run.
Triathlons offer a unique challenge that pushes athletes both physically and mentally. They require a combination of endurance, strength, and mental fortitude, as you conquer each discipline and strive for a seamless transition between them.

From the exhilarating novice distance, perfect for those dipping their toes into the world of triathlon, to the gruelling Ironman/Endurance distance that pushes even the most seasoned athletes, there’s a suitable challenge waiting for you.

Swimwear: Invest in a comfortable and well-fitting wetsuit. While not always mandatory, a wetsuit can significantly improve your swim time and keep you warm in cooler waters. We will let you know ahead of time if wetsuits will be required for your event via email.
Bike: Ensure your bike is in excellent working order. Perform a thorough pre-race check, including inflating tyres to the correct pressure, checking brakes, and ensuring gears shift smoothly. You don’t need the most hi-tec bike to take part.
Running shoes: Choose running shoes that provide good support and cushioning. Consider getting fitted by a professional to find the best shoes for your foot type and running style.
Helmet: A properly fitted cycling helmet is essential for your safety. Ensure the helmet fits snugly and comfortably, covering your forehead and the back of your head.
Sunglasses: Protect your eyes from the sun and wind with a pair of sunglasses that provide good UV protection.
Chamois cream: For cycling comfort, apply chamois cream to prevent saddle sores.
Nutrition: Develop a nutrition and hydration strategy that works for you. Experiment with different energy gels, sports drinks, and snacks during training to find what fuels you best.
Hydration: Stay hydrated in the days leading up to the race and throughout the event. Carry water bottles or hydration packs on your bike and utilise the water stations provided on the course.
Consistency is key: Regular training in swimming, cycling, and running is crucial for building endurance and improving your overall fitness.
Progressive overload: Gradually increase the intensity and duration of your workouts to avoid injury and maximise your training gains.
Include cross-training: Incorporate activities like strength training and core exercises to improve your overall strength and stability.
Rest and recovery: Prioritise adequate rest and recovery in the days leading up to the event. Get plenty of sleep, eat a balanced diet, and consider incorporating massage or foam rolling into your recovery routine.
